Not a great day today didn't manage to get on site, torrential rain to start which did ease off to light rain eventually but by then all of the delicate surfaces were so wet they were never going to dry out today, so after a pitch inspection by Caz and Alice we had to reluctantly call off for the day. No star finds today, but instead some star photos taken by Steve with his drone, showing off the site to great advantage.
First here's the whole trench in an overhead, the bright orange are our many hearths inside the sub divided roundhouse. Structure 5 is at the top, with structure 6 to the left, then below that anticlockwise is the furnace room, the beach is at the bottom of the shot:
Then it's a close up of structure 5 with the latest of a series of bright ornage hearths showing up very well:
And finally an oblique angle on the whole site taken from the landward side looking towards the beach:
Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day, fingers crossed.
An amazing site and a shame about the weather! All those lovely hearths though! It has changed a lot this season. I am keeping tabs on you!😊
Keep up the good work!
Best wishes, Trish.
